You should start by determining what adhesive is being used in the nozzle. Once you know that, finding a chemical that will work should be a lot easier.

Isn't it possible to set the forum up so you can directly post a photo into the thread ? I have looked at other forums/sites and I hate it when you click on a photo link that does not work. Anyhow, I was just curious.

Yes, the (large) company where I work has the policy not to use leadfree BGA's in the "old" process, so it's not unusual. Be prepared to have more customers having this opinion.

I do not rebuild Mydata at present but would like to get started. We rebuild many others and do a good job with them. If you or one of the others using the forum would like to work with me on this please get in touch at nozzlesupply.com.

Does it have to be made out of plastic? Wouldn't some stock aluminum plate with milled out pockets work just as well? Would the aluminum offer the same, better, or worse ESD protection?

I go with hot air. If that isn't possiable than I would say run a test. Reflow one board and see what happens. If it gose bad all the through-hole might have to be taken out. Let us know how it gose. Megan
