Had the same thing happen here. If the thermocouple line shorts out the temperature appears to go runaway (999F or whatever the max of your software is). Ours was a short out in a socket where the thermo plugged in to pass through the frame. Regar

Your risk is very high that the solder paste on the blind parts will dryout and hole the parts to the board but not actually reflow. They will pass electrical test but fall off in the real world. Blind soldering is a very high risk process.

Run the lead free BGA side first. Then run the tin lead side second. We do this on some boards so that we don't overheat the components on the second side. There is no reason that the lead free solder needs to reflow on the second pass.

Im having problems with electromigration post a IEC - 60601 test (95% humidity for 48 hours). Im looking for a lead-free NC wire solder that will pass. Does anyone know of any that will work? Thanks, Chris

We had a similar problem with lead-free through-hole components. We baked those baords to remove the residual moisture and everything went to 100% pass - defect was gone. Couldnt hurt to try a sample run while you decide if the PCB holes need to be

Hi, in past we had an issue with ENIG surface, black was Ni that get pass the Au - but it was discovered after reflow (SnPb) and the IC was losing contact with Cu tracks...at customers application :| Reason was as I remember too thin Au sufrace... w

Engineering tried it with special made .4 nozzles (which we could never get to pass a center test reliably) but the results were less than spectacular. The reject and bad placement rates were high so that idea was abandoned.

Sure thing Steven. I understand you're a glazzed, chocolate donut kind of guy. Should be easy to pass your audit. But bring your glasses - not for our facility (glasses free thank you) but for the night life!

I've done it in the past. By-pass it and you'll be back in production. Make sure your power is off.
