Does replacing the BGA fix the problem? To be a little more blunt, is the BGA or is it the tech says it's the BGA. Beleive none of what you hear and only half of what you see. What kind of BGA is it? If it is one of those BGA's with a built in heats

Hello, we are facing some troubles with BGA opens in our production. PCB are both side popolated with BGA. BGA is array of 26*26, with some 6*6 center balls. PCB has 2 reflow processes, 4 pcs of BGA on each side. Now we are partly observing opens

Profile should have a longer cool soak. Verify as was mentioned all pin/fixture support through out the entire process. Print, Place, pre reflow hand load, post reflow, carriers, ICT, Depanel and FCT. Conformal Coated or Potted? Mylars work well for

With the Pb-Free BGA on there, you'll want to use pb-free solder paste for assembly. The logical course of action would be to use Pb-free solder paste for the entire assembly, and to reflow at the temperatures necessary for the BGA and Pb-free paste

TBH I think perhaps the OP deserved it, there is perfectly good explanation of Reflow and Process Window Index on Wikipedia for starters and if you want more all sorts of FREE specialist papers on things like reflowing flex circuit, lead/lead free et

I do want to run a profile, but they won't give up the machine long enough for me to run one. The boards that we are running through the wave are large boards, with large caps, and large transformers on it. We're building highend power amps that

Sorry folks. I'm just a naysayer here. Let's look at this BGA thing...... We've all been successfully processing down to 16 mil FP stuff for years, now--some of us down to 11 mil. Once the printing process was stabilized, paste rheologies were matur

| | | We've recently encountered this problem where one of our .050" pitch BGA's were reflowing at the wave thus causing shorts... The board was profiled with probes stuck to a QFP solder joint, an 0603, and one of the BGA joints. There was an almo
