I believe Humiseal (and others) makes some water based coatings...www.humiseal.com Dymax has a no VOC UV cure if you have an adequate UV source.

Humiseal has no-VOC coatings Acrylic and Urethane on offer, they too have non-VOC silicones and new UV curable also...!!!

In our house we have had some of our BGA's reballed because it was a lead-free part and wanted to place on a leaded assembly. Hope this helps.

That's pretty funny.............change the cognex card. Jim you indeed have an interlock problem an if this is a UP-3000 which I suspect it is there are several interlocks if I recall correctly.

Jim, You need to repair or by-pass the cover interlock. The machine thinks it's open and will not procede any further. They all do it, even the new models. Once you get past this warning - you will get the the RESET window - garanteed.

It sounds like this part is floating on your solder joint during reflow. You may need to redesign your pad geometry. In general with this type of clip - smaller pads are better. If you cannotcahnge pad size, try changing the openings on your stenc

We have this issue as well in our house. A customer calls out a lead-free bga and wants to place on a leaded assembly. All we do is send it out and get the BGA reballed with leaded balls.
