OSP surface finish.

Could someone help to let me know when we are doing stencil printing of solder paste on board with OSP surface finish on the land, the stencil is resting on the solder mask or the land itself. If it is resting on the solder mask, then, the actual pas

Bill, I would assume that the stencil rests on the soldermask especially when you use a metallblade. If you know the difference in height between soldermask and land you could take that into your volume calculation when figuring out your desired ste

Hi,Wolfgang Busko, Thank you for your help. Still need some advice. If the OSP board having stencil rest on the solder mask, then, would it has more gasketing effect( solder paste squeezed out to the underside of the stencil), as compared to the HAS

intrusive reflow with OA paste

Hi all, I'm would like to try intrusive reflow (pin in paste, paste in hole, etc.) on a connector using WS-609 solder paste (halide free, water-washable). I'm concerned about entrapped flux in the barrel of the solder joints. If there were to be e

Its my understanding that so long as the paste is not exposed to air it is not going to be active, someone else might be more sure about this than I am. Be ready for lots of half soldered leads using this process. Its quick and easy but will not b

Which companies would you consider for protective coatings, (conformal coating) and other levels of protection? I am taking a fresh look at alternatives. Know any good tests for testing compatability of coating with flux - aqueous or no clean? SMT

Hi Sal, I dont have the solution to your problems but my first thought is warpage. Ive seen similar things caused by exessive warpage of PCBs 1,6mm thick sometimes and with 0,8mm and T-SOP 50% showed this symptom. Prebaking and a fixture to counte
