Not that easy, because of different thicknesses and pitch, almost no two reels are the same unless they have a common vendor and part type. That would require a mylar template for every vendor and for every pitch variant. We sometimes get parts fro

We currently use the bartector system on our CP6. It has saved us quite a few times with wrong part numbers being loaded on the wrong location. (rework for certain parts would have been a nightmare) It is extremely easy to use. I was not involved

I'm looking for carton boxes for SMT-reels, as on this picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/drone67/DSC00464.jpg They used to be supplied with parts from Philips, but they don't seem to make these anymore.

Is any one using either of these part verification systems? If so how well do they work and what was the general cost? Thanks for any info.

We do some of our own tape and reeling. We build a small module then ship it in tape and reel. When we first started I could not get a sample just the gerbers and part data. I asked a few places. But without samples they weren't any help. Except for

Hi, We have been using the Crest Solutions Reelscan system here for about 3 years on 8 lines and it has pretty much eliminated wrong part placement. We use it on a variety of SMT placement machines and i believe it can be adapted to any type of place

Opens are on the device to the PCB - mainly on the edges, that makes me think I get some kind of warping, but even if I bake parts and boards doesn't help. We also tried different reflow profiles - same results. I hear that some people use dip fluxers

Hi, We started to get more and more parts RoHS compliant on our smt line. The operator is sending me back a reel of componenent (0805)resistors and he is telling me that solder wetting is poor and unnaceptable due to oxydation deposit over the leads

| Currently, we are baking any PCB before process on SMT, the 'reason' is to dry any possible humidity that could be inner the PCB, it does not matter if the PCB is multilayer or not. We bake PCB's at 107C for 4 hrs and the board must be process into

We run a Mydata high mix, low volume line. You can handle strips with either the Agilis feeders (losing the first 5-10 parts) or by placing the strip on the Y or tray wagons. For cheap parts like resistors, capacitors, some diodes and small ICs, ou
