Hi larry, don't know if you resolved your problem but if machine is picking part three times, rejecting all three but places number fourth your nozzle pickup is misaligned very slightly. During the first three pickups the nozzle is finally seating it

Larger tighter spaced balls will present a problem in sealing the vacuum cup. There will be more leakage in this case. It really depends upon the application. The BGA you mention should not be a major concern. The bigger problems are with bigger

You might also have a dirty/sticky Z-rod resulting in the same problem, although ordinarily you'll see a lot of missed pickups as well.

Thanks for the response. We have checked everything except the stepper motor, which we will try. But as we were checking everything now we've developed a software (?) problem. A msg comes up "can't find DSP".

It sounds like it's just failing the laser align step. Try changing the align type for the part to "2" and see if it places it. If it's failing the laser align and you have valid part dimensions I can't help much but you might consider opening up th
