Then look for a disconnected supply or earth to the head. A dodgy cap (high ESR) on the supply of the board. Put a CRO on the supply and check it's supply and earth to chassis and to each other and then compare the level to other boards in the machin

Looks like you'll need to reset the controller. That will require turning the Run/Halt swith to Halt and back to Run. That should put an @ prompt on the screen. There is a list of inputs you continue through to reinitiate, but I have forgotten the

I would run the passive side first just because the BGA is probably moisture sensitive and I wouldn't want to have to keep track of the time between first and second reflow.

Passives first reflow, and BGAs second side reflow. Uses only one heating cycle for your BGAs, and the passives will stay in place just fine given correct profile parameters. There are a few exceptions, but this is generally how it is done. My $.02

Thanks for the reply bobpan. I had the motor power on. I did have a side panel that was not shut all the way. Once I shut that, the error went away and it made it through its startup sequence. No errors. Thanks for the help.

The correct sequence steps should be: 1. tep hold 2-? pick/place/nozzles tep vpass goto 1 This is out of the programming manual.

To get rid of the old info as far as the electrical test and so forth, just try to type in the pick number in CC, it should erase that extra info that you do not need. Do this after you uploaded your information. Hope this helps.

Michelle, I've tried this, and the extra information goes away, until you save and then access the pick and place data again, then it is back.

Thanks Bob, Any idea on how to switch between the front & back monitor/keyboard. This machine doesn't have a front/back switch like my other one. i am guessing that there is a keyboard sequence that i need to hit.

In that case, please consider one block skip mark, the same first sequence for all programs, view some feature of the X-Y table, not the PCB, that way, its just a habit. I will look into preventing advance pick, not sure if it is possible.
