Hi Soza: As Dave F mentioned, there are lot of factors involving the formation of residue, after cleaning. Factors, (such as: solvent's cleaning power, presence of metal oxides, type of soldering flux, etc...). One thing pretty sure, IPC is usually

Circuit repair kits

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 05 16:48:41 EDT 2000 | LarryK

Has anyone ever used the circuit repair kits? The type where you can replace a PTH or SMT pad that has been lifted or damaged? It appears that you just select a pad, trace or whatever needs replacing from a panel and heat or glue it onto the board.

These types of foil kits work just fine as long as they are used before expiration. Scraping off the epoxy coat gets a little tough on fine pitch pads and etches. I have always like to use a solder sample board to retrieve my bits & pieces from whene

Right!!!! We have built product with via holes only 0.010" off the edge of the routed edge or even routed them in half, which usually adds cost and shorts to the chassis. Most high speed routing has a tolerance of +- 0.005". It's common for UL fi

We are considering retrofitting our Vectra wave soldering machine with a hot air knife. I've run our problem board on a machine with this option and it does seem to work; however, there is a concern of component failure due to thermal shock. Is thi

Cheap and beige = CEM1 Dave has good advice. Go to a fab that you use and ask them. My concern is that you are not getting enough documentation to do your job correctly. If your customer expects you to duplicate a sample they had better spec what th
