I would say no, unless your machine is in extremeconditions. You may want to check your flux / preheat out as well. If you are leaving a lot of flux on the board at wave, it may be boiling - which can cause solder balls.

Td - is the degradation temperature for a laminate (board), while Tg - is glass transition one. There is one more (even more important) - delta Tg. They characterize the quality of the laminate material. Regards, Vlad www.sentec.ca

Not sure how many inspections need to be done at 15 - 20sec total per board, but you may need to install multiple SPIs/AOIs to hit your takt time. Mike

Hi Fujispares thanks for the info but still not going. Tried other ic parts and the result is the same. Also tried another vision board. Any more suggestions? Thanks

board input sensor sensitivity? maybe conveyor movement triggers it and because of that it sends pulse. conveyor moves few millimeters, how does machine act?

We unfortunately use GERBER data to digitize boards more than any CAD. We are CM and many of our customers do not provide CAD. With some Legacy products, we still use 274-D Gerbers.

@cbart It's a mid-volume product and as I said, there are several boards (slightly different layouts) using the same component. When you say ISI, do you mean connectors? can you give me an example of what you used in the past?

@Stephen How big was the adapter board? It's challenging to depanelize and tedious to manually put these tiny assemblies in a tray.

I would like to enter the discussion by tossing some numbers in. First of all I dont like the 3 Sigma value. 3 Sigma are 2000 defects per mio. if I remember correctly. This means, if you have 200 components on the board, then every 10 boards have on
