It has stopped all together. We did go thru and touch up the solder joints. It says it fails to initialize the CRT.

I use aluminum tape. Attach the thermocouple to the solder joint of a component. Use tape to hold down the wires so your thermocouple doesn't break free. Go to youtube and search "oven profile". There are some great "how to" videos there to help yo

I agree that Dage makes some excellent 3D (CAT) systems, but in our experience a high-resolution 2D system with tilt capability is usually better-suited for inspection of solder joints. Glenn Robertson Process Sciences

I guess that depends what you're trying to inspect. Are you inspecting solder joints too? If so, I'd wash them first. But that's just me.

I've seen studies were Pb-free BGAs in a leaded process have no reliability issues when a lead free profile is used. Pb-free profile ensure proper ball collapse and solder joint formation.

We used process 1 that dave detailed. We used screen print adhesive on one line and pin transfer on another. The adhesive dots were applied to the body of the component allowing the wave to form the solder joints.

Target those specific parts/leads with a thermal-couple and a mole and try to get the peak reflow temps up to 225 C. It's not a cure but it will improve the apperance of the solder joints.

This is not what we'd expect. We need more information about process, materials, and distribution of the problem. Also, a picture would be nice.
