| How ESD will be effected by painting the legs of the work stations. Any names of suppliers? | Ali: Wayne is correct that many of the suppliers of work stations are beginning to supply their product with ESD paint on the supports.

On one hand, everything you can do to reduce the potential to generate charges will make your product more reliable. I'm not sure that painting existing benche supports with ESD paint is a good solution, because the paint needs to be connected to your common ground point for proper dissipation.

On the other hand, there are millions of 200 volt work stations out there without ESD paint on the supports.

It's possible that ESD paint on bench supports is a point for assessing planned bench purchases.

The problem is always the cost.....also it is required to properly connect the work bench and top to the grounding system.

With most installations what we find is after a year or so, people have moved the benches around and the grounding system seems to stay in the old location, hence there is no ground attached to the frames.

There are just tons of people selling a better bench these days and one gets what they pay for, I guess?

Just my thoughts.

If one is looking for suppliers of ESD paints and other gadgets of gimmicks, then one need only do a search using the acronym "ESD." However, it should be noted that anything with ESD in the product description will be costly.
I wonder if it would help just to keep the table (and legs) clean. SMD |
