Looking for a qucik change over, high density, small run machine. Speed is not of the essence. User friendly programming and repeatability are the main focus. Any suggestions?

Juki KE-2050R (or any of their R-series machines). They have the ability to automatically learn pick positions on paper tape feeders and they can zoom in on pick locations (x2 or x4), so this will help when they release their nozzle for 01005 components.

Just about everybody has quick change over feeder banks as an option. They also have software that will determine common feeder setups to reduce or eliminate feeder changeover between jobs.

Their demo ran real smooth; our board had over 2000 0201 placements and not a hiccup.

I have a feeling someone from Mydata or a Rep. replies to these threads. Every time there is a question about what machine to buy it's always Mydata. I know companies with Mydata that can't do half the stuff everyone here claims.

Looked at it on the web, I believe that it will place those 600 parts in less than 2 hours! And you guys were thinking that it is slow? Ken, not only will it solder those parts with its blazing speed but did you know that you don't even need a stencil with this baby, "it has a precise Martin dispenser" that will do that for you! I have a Martin BGA rework machine and the dispenser on it is the most accurate thing I have ever seen! It will apply stuff wherever you point it. We all need a couple of these babies and this forum could just go away because all problems are solved!

Won't there be ESD & inspection problems with Martins dispensed all over the board? we only have 1 Martin here and he would fail an ESD test and a cleanliness test. Also he's considerably bigger than any board we make.

I'm really getting a lot of fun, at leat Rob has some good points matching technology and humor. These kind of questions should be out of the forum, what I suggest is first to do some research previous to make any GENERAL questions about what SMT platform anyone suggests. I guess anyone on the SMT business should know some basics and curiosity enough to research about SMT platforms looking for the best solution
