Manufacturing Engineer

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY: Performs engineering/technical assignments using manufacturing engineering practices and principles in a fast paced lean manufacturing environment. Designs and implements manufacturing methods and processes that support product quality and productivity goals and objectives for both new and existing products. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: � Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and implementing timely solutions to maintain continuity of production flow. � Participates as an active leader on New Product Development projects. Interfaces with other departments during development process to ensure design for safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost position. � Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters. � Monitors and debugs production and test methods / procedures to ensure system efficiencies. � Prepares design concept drawings, cost estimates and implementation schedules for production equipment and tooling. � Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation. � Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues. � Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and production equipment. � Leads and participates in Monthly Improvement Workshops (Kaizens). � Provides necessary support within the factory and department to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. � Demonstrates ability to perform as a self-starter to drive continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility. Continually seeks new opportunities to improve both processes and products. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: � Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. � Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred, but not required. � Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred. � SMT or LabView. *Relocation compensation is negotiable
