Alpha Assembly Solutions, a MacDermid Performance Solutions Business and a world leader in the development, manufacturing, and sales of innovative materials used in the assembly electronics, industrial joining and Photo Voltaic market places, is seeking a Scientist - Chemistry for their South Plainfield, NJ Research & Development facility
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of this position is conduct project activity to develop new silver sintering products through interaction with technical personnel while gathering, analyzing and interpreting scientific data. Progress, goals and milestones will be communicated through verbal or written reports and presentations internally and to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Scientist Position Expectations:
• Direct day-to-day research project activities and act as internal resource for technical information pertaining core products of Alpha
• Work with Global R&D team to build collaborative partnerships with potential clients to develop current and future products and service value in the core business areas of Alpha
• Work closely with Project managers and Marketing team in the development of new product and technology.
Research & Development:
• Conduct work in formulating new silver pastes and silver related products; analyze data toward project direction goals and milestones; write technical reports and create presentations
• Design, supervise, and interpret quality control techniques and protocols of formulated silver pastes and silver related products
• Work with a team to conduct analysis related to the applications of the new products
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates for this opportunity should possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in chemistry or related discipline, with a minimum of five to seven years of related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Preferred candidates will possess one or more of the following:
• Experience in formulating pastes, inks or similar products.
• Experience with new product development and commercialization.
• Knowledge of organic/polymer chemistry and related processes.
