Manufacturing Engineering Manager

The primary function of this position is to provide sustaining manufacturing engineering support to the production floor along with optimization of the process flow and the equipment required to deliver a quality product that will provide ongoing customer satisfaction. This position will be very much involved in New Product Introduction to the production floor along with (DFM) Design For Manufacturability parameters given to Design Engineering. Responsibilities Include: -Lead our Manufacturing Engineering Group as the liaisons between Manufacturing and Project/Design Engineering; -Drive improvements to our manufacturing processes; -Work to introduce new manufacturing technologies/equipment for new and existing products; -Lead out in the justification and purchase of production equipment/upgrades for the production floor. -Analyze product design and manufacturing options as they relate to cost, quality and delivery of new products; -Assist manufacturing and engineering in "design for manufacturing" driven products; -Coordination of all manufacturing processes for the fabrication of prototype and 1st article builds; -For prototype activity, optimize the process and mechanical design to insure Design for Manufacturability, Testability, Quality, Economy, Value, Customer Satisfaction, etc. Provide information and work closely with the Design and Project Engineers. -Ensure a timely and manufacturable transfer from design/prototyping to production level manufacturing; -Set-up and enhance manufacturing process flows for custom products; -Assist Project Engineering on the application of R&D efforts; Ideal Candidate Qualifications: -Bachelor�s degree in Mfg., ME, EE, IE or equivalent; -A good working knowledge of electronic PCB assembly and/or Membrane Switch Technology; -Printed circuit board assembly experience, both Through-Hole and Surface Mount Technology is strongly desired; -Proven Manufacturing Engineering and/or ME Management track record; -Good communication skills; -Basic computer skills (Windows/MS products); -AutoCad, 3D design or PCB design and layout a plus; -Hands-on approach to work; -Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively; -Proven problem solving and report writing skills; -Self-motivated/self-starter;
