I am having problems with voids in our soldering process. I believe it to be the fact that we use a no clean flux without control on how the boards are handled (gloves, procedures, etc.) Does anyone have suggestions on the appropriate place to start?

Not enough info, when you say no clean flux, is it for wave soldering process, please provide more detail, SMT or wave, is it all the joint which you find the void? Rgds

If the thinner you are using is 4662 and the correct amounts that should not be the problem. Is this the first solder operation? I would start by looking for rosen or no clean flux getting on the boards at some point before wave soldering and not bei

I had confused by same problem, the reason I found is the interval between wave soldering and cleaning is too long and did not set the temp. of D.I water at 120F~150F. Kester flux is good. Rgs, Wister

Hi Dave, If my solder paste is RMA based and my Wave Solder flux is NC Based, will there be incompatibility problem that might arise during the process? And if i don't clean my boards what will be the possible effects of the residues left? thanks

Has anyone out there had solder joint wetting issues with Murata ceramic chip caps, in particular with Alpha UP78 no-clean paste? We are finding that changing either the paste or the vendor corrects this problem. If so, please advise your solution(

I would like to hear from anyone who has had experience using Alpha NR310 no-clean flux in their wavesolder operation. We are having difficulties controlling residue levels on boards. Thanks.

Dr. Lee: We had a discussion on the forum recently and I wanted to get your input. What is the best method(s) for elimating (reducing) no-clean solder paste flux from splattering on gold interconnect fingers on a PCA?

Bob, Is Nitrogen a "MUST" for reflow and wave soldering of the Lead-Free Solder Alloys ? And is post cleaning be a great impact when converting to Lead-Free Solders ?
