This is a late reply, but from my experience a really good removal station is one made by a company called CCRCo. They make a micro-abrasive station that addresses all the ESD concerns. They utilize a reusable media that is really cost effective. The

By "they've been through the wash cycle twice" what do you mean? What kind of cleaning process do you use? What sort of chemistry? How do you handle the assemblies after wash and before coating? Do the operators where power free gloves? -Phil

These micro ablation stations can be outfitted with air ionizers and you can use less electronegative materials like corn starch as the blast media. Laser ablation works on parylene and other coatings when on metal surfaces. BWET

Gun wash is another term used for acrylic laquer thinner. We use DuPont 3642SC. We have much success in its use.
