OSRAM Power TopLEDs with dome

Electronics Forum | Mon May 02 22:30:42 EDT 2005 | Frank

I agree with Russ, a standard nozzle picking up directly on top of the dome. Do not go around (or over the dome) and try and hold the part from the base. Have you tried using a nozzle around 1.0-1.5mm in diameter and hold it from the tip of the dom

Thanks for the suggestions. We have been going around the dome to pick from the base. The placement machines are Panasonic chipshooters - MV2VB and MV2C. I have several problems with the MV2C. The K-type feeder plates were moved by my predeces

I don't know what machine type you have or what the nozzles look like but we use a standard nozzle with an I.D. of either .8 or 1.5mm. We rotate and pick up the part somewhat slowly.

Has anyone developed a custom nozzle for these guys? http://www.osram.convergy.de/upload/documents/2005/03/03/14/47/LA_LO_LS_LY_E63B.pdf I've found that there is a deposit of epoxy at the base of the lens that can sometimes cause the LED to lodge in

Dome Fiducials

Thanks for the reply, I do know that the HASL finish is "domed " on opposite sides of a QFP site & "smooth" on the other two sides. (ie. Sides 1 & 3 are domed, & sides 2 & 4 are smooth ) depending on the direction the PCB was extracted from sol

Selective Solder and Corona reducing (domed) joints

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 02 12:49:33 EDT 2018 | robl

Has anyone tried producing domed joints for high voltage corona reduction on a selective solder machine? I'm guessing it probably won't work due to gravity, but worth a shout. Thanks, Rob.

Dane, I'll give you a quick guess before I log off; The reason you are seeing problems with dome shaped fiducials is probably because the machines in question do not use grey scale recognition. They asign either black or white( not 256 shades of grey

ICT Question, Via holes and Probes

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 27 08:44:08 EDT 2007 | Brett

For those of you who use via holes as test points, and the via holes must be filled at the wave, is it necessary to have a "dome" on every single test point, or is it sufficient to have the via "filled" with solder? The ICT preson here insists that
