I am working to improve the yield on a SMT line and am trying to find out a benchmark figure, anyone who could guide me to the expected yield for soldering related issues on a board containing approximatly 4000 joints I would be very greatfull.

Have you had your solder pot tested? I find that levels of contaminants can rend a solder joint that dull look.

How about a dunking booth where we can put some of the reps that abuse this forum. I'll pay a buck for 3 tennis balls. This and a deep fried twinkee booth would put attendance levels through the roof.

thanks for ur help. i would also like to know the classes is for showing different level of requirement, or for different vertical location of void in joint. coz I heard from my workmate that the range from 9% to 36% is for void at different vertical
