The viscosity is only consistent over a small temperature range. If your room temperature has changed by a few degrees, it can make all the difference. You may have to increase the settling time. We did not check the viscosity, but measured the con

Greg, The increased space and hence potentially increased airflow will have no effect on "solderability." It may effect the temperature that the balls see and that is a different issue that can be worked from a profile standpoint if you are not hit

Wave rider is an oven profiler made by ECD. http://www.ecd.com. They are commonly known for their MOLE. The wave rider is different from the MOLE because it is used to measure the temperature, conveyor speed, etc. of the OVEN instead of the pcb.

Ashok, I don't understand what they're saying about the gray joint. Usually a gray joint has to do with too much heat. Also, the higher the temperature the lower the fillet because of the increased viscosity of the solder. Correct? Wouldn't yo

Do solders exist that are both lead-free and low-temperature (e.g. 100-170 Celsius range)? If so, who supplies these materials? Any websites or contact information would be most helpful. Also, I am not an expert on soldering, so any good website

Hi, I work at a service department in Portugal and we are recently ISO9002 compliant. After our 2 billion audits, they asked us to improve our soldering documentation by joining information on soldering and desoldering regular and SMD IC's, like: max
