Elcoteq Forms Joint Venture With Finnish PCB Firm

Finnish EMS provider Elcoteq Network Corp. has entered into a joint venture with printed wiring board maker Aspocomp Group Oyj to develop integrated module board (IMB) technology under a new company Imbera Electronics Oy.

The partnership will allow Elcoteq and Aspocomp, Helsinki, Finland, to use new technology to put active components inside a PWB structure and will be applied in prototype production within a year, according to Elcoteq executives.

Risto Tuominen, Aspocomp Group Oyj's research manager will become Imbera Electronics' chief executive. Imbera Electronics is headquartered in Espoo, Finland.
