Zollner and ERSA Partner at New Northern CA Facility

ERSA, a leading supplier of soldering equipment, announces that it has been selected by Zollner Electronics, a leading global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, to be the exclusive wave and selective soldering supplier for its new facility in the Silicon Valley region.  

Zollner Electronics’ new facility, located in Milpitas, CA, is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and is capable of performing RoHS compliant lead-free and conventional leaded assembly. Zollner has experienced the benefits of ERSA’s products, being one of ERSA’s top selective soldering customers worldwide. In addition to ERSA’s selective soldering, Zollner will take advantage of its Full Nitrogen Tunnel Wave Solder technology.

ERSA’s Full Nitrogen Tunnel Wave Solder machine will allow Zollner to achieve a competitive edge over competition when it comes to thermally challenging, hard-to-solder RoHS compliant and lead-free boards. The Full Nitrogen Tunnel technology expands the process window by allowing more preheat to the board without worrying about flux volatilization and re-oxidization. Additionally, Full Nitrogen Tunnel machines provide much better topside hole fill with lower copper dissolution even in the most thermally challenging boards. Zollner will be one of few companies in Silicon Valley with this new technology.
