Juki Automation Systems has introduced the KE-2020, a high-speed flexible assembler designed to place small and odd shaped components, as well as standard components, at optimum speed.
The KE-2020 is equipped with a high-speed four-nozzle head for placing components and has one fine-pitch placement head with one nozzle capable of placing 0201 components, micro BGAs, CSPs and other odd-shaped components.
"The prevalence of small and odd shaped components is growing in the SMT industry and the KE-2020 allows manufacturing and production engineers to customize their line while maintaining the fastest, most flexible assembly possible", said Juki Automation Systems President, Gary Burroughs.
The KE-2020 features a multi-nozzle laser align with inflight centering which allows for faster cycle time and accuracy. It also provides a superior vision system with All-Ball Recognition which inspects for the presence and condition of balls and prevents faulty balls from entering production. The KE-2020 is also equipped with a component vision system which utilizes a unique Flex-Lighting arrangement. This system identifies odd-shaped components such as BGAs mBGAs and CSPs by illuminating all sides of the component. This feature provides faster, more accurate recognition than competitive machines.
The fine-pitch head is capable of placing up to 1,800 components per hour, while the multi-nozzle head is able to place up to 11,000 components. Combined, the two heads provide the fastest placement at the lowest cost.
Juki Automation Systems, Inc., the exclusive partner of Tokyo-based Juki Corporation, is a leading supplier of SMT automated assembly equipment to the printed circuit board assembly market. Since 1987, Juki has shipped more than 10,000 SMT systems, making it the world's third-largest supplier of SMT assembly equipment.
