Jul 14, 2014 EasyBraid, a manufacturer of soldering systems using the unique “Curie Point” technology, has announced the introduction of the SHP-K & SHP-KM soldering iron hand piece which can be used in competitive OKI/Metcal soldering systems, designated PS-800, PS-900, MFR-PS1100, MFR-PS2200. The SHP-K handpiece is compatible with the connector on the PS-800/900 systems and the SHP-KM handpiece is compatible with the connector on the MFR-PS1100/PS2200 systems. The hand pieces allow the use of EasyBraid EK series cartridges (tips) which do not need the heating elements necessary with the OKI/Metcal design, since the EasyBraid cartridges (tips) – include the heater. The advantages are significant cost savings, and less downtime due to heater changes.
