Kodiak Assembly Solutions Reminds Customers to Plan Ahead

Mar 12, 2021

Kodiak Assembly Solutions LP, a leading contract electronic manufacturer, would like to remind all customers that now is the time to plan ahead for the coming months.

“While we’re seeing a lot of new activity from customers, which is great, we need to stress the fact that lead times are lengthening and material prices are rising,” commented Michael Harlow, Vice President of Sales, Kodiak Assembly Solutions. “Fab shops are having a difficult time getting raw materials to make boards. Semiconductor manufacturers are struggling to keep up with the increased demand. According to several sources, the proliferation of electric cars is spiking the demand for PCBs/PCBAs and the materials associated with them. Also, consumer product sales were very strong as many people were working from home in 2020. We’ve seen prices increase as much as 35%, and lead times that typically were three weeks are now five or six weeks.”

Despite this news, Kodiak is hopeful that with planning and patience, all their customers will be able to have their orders filled. Harlow added, “It is vital to inform all of our customers across all industries of these market-wide conditions.”

Over the last 16 years, Kodiak Assembly has established a reputation for high-quality, first pass yields and on-time deliveries. The company offers PCB assembly, test and system integration capabilities out of a world-class facility in Austin.

Kodiak Assembly’s expertise and flexibility allow the company to facilitate the effective production of a great variety of products. The company is built around the idea of being able to quickly begin production of high-quality electronic products while also sticking to the most demanding schedule.
