The IPC-7711/7721 Certified IPC Specialist Course is an advanced rework, repair and modification course which provides students hands on training in wire splicing, rework of PTH and SMT components, repair of damaged/ lifted land/ pad, conductor traces, damaged/burned laminate surfaces and removal of conformal coating. The ideal candidates are IPC-7711/7721 Certified IPC Specialists requiring recertification to the standard. Proof of certification is mandatory at the beginning of the class (i.e. Original certificate and official IPC letter of extension, if that was granted.) This is a two (2) day review of the standard targeted for Certified IPC Specialists who require recertification. Candidates write open and closed book examinations and they must rework, repair and modify to acceptable workmanship standards. Training is conducted by Celestica in cooperation with Seneca College. The training leads to industry recognized IPC certification in IPC-A-610, "Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies" and IPC-7711/7721, "Rework, Repair and Modification" Standards at operator and trainer level for individuals currently employed or seeking future employment in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly related industries. Successful students will be issued joint Seneca/Celestica Recognition of Completion along with the corresponding IPC certification. |
