reflow/wave exhaust to outside | 23 June, 2023

Anyone involved in responsibility of reflow/wave solder equipment and the exhaust from both. Do you "scrub" or clean the exhaust before it gets released to outside? I would be referencing alcohol-based fluxes/pastes. There is a concern by safety folks (not familiar with electronic assembly) that we may be violating some kind of health code. Would rather not involve state agencies as they tend to overreact (IMHO). Thanks

In the US, the EPA has legal authority to monitor and regulate toxic air pollutants. The US EPA passes enforcement of monitoring and regulation of emissions to the state EPAs. State EPAs pass their enforcement of monitoring and regulation of emissions responsibilities to the local county & some times city EPAs.

Sounds like a sleeping dog, as you say.
