Tin Whisker Risk Management by Conformal Coating

The objective of this study is to evaluate conformal coatings for mitigation of tin whisker growth. The conformal coatings chosen for the experiment are acrylic, polyurethane and parylene. Also included in this paper are tin whisker inspection results of tin-plated braiding and wire that was exposed to an environment of 50°C with 50% relative humidity for over five years.

glue for SMT process -- What glue is recommended for screening on the SMT line for a 0402-size glue aperture

Axial Inserter replacement/alternative -- We're in contract manufacturing and we have a mid-90's vintage Universal 6241D Axial Inserter that we use maybe once a month on a few orders. We're stuck because a few clients have boards that can't justify the hand insertion time, but on the other hand, we can't justify a replacement inserter machine. I'm looking for ideas on alternatives that would either aid hand insertion time with cut/clinch included or automate insertion as a replacement but not be 100K. I've looked into Versatec and Robotas. Robotas came back at ~90K which seems outrageous to me for a hand guided system. Have any of you gone through a similar process? Or do any of you have other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
